Question: How is my lawyer paid?

Answer: What if I can't afford a lawyer? Most of not all personal injury attorneys work on contingency bases. The attorney gets a portion of the money collected for you. So the lawyer only gets paid when they win your case. Lawyers usually charge a one-third (33 1/3%) of the settlement or judgment.

Question: How much is my case worth?

Answer: It is very difficult to predict the outcome of any case. Many factors can affect the value of your case. Usually your attorney can give you a general idea of the value of your case based on prior similar results.

Question: Can I change my lawyer?

Answer: It is your legal right to change lawyers

Question: I was in an accident but it was partially my fault can I still sue?

Answer: Absolutely, very rarely does and negligence case is 100% fault of any ones party. New York is a comparative negligence state. Meaning, you can still recover in a case where you were partially at fault.

Question: Do you think my case is good?

Answer: Each case must be evaluated separately. We investigate your case and it is ultimately the opinion of our experts, however which will determine if you have a good case or not

Question: How long will all this take?

Answer: Our cases are concluded in truly manner. We do not take shortcuts, and most cases are concluded within two years from the firm they started time they are started

Answer: No, there are no minimum or maximum settlement amounts.

Question: What to do after the accident?

Answer: In the first few days after an accident it is important that you do the following if you want to protect your rights:

  • 1) Contact a personal injury attorney
  • 2) Make notes about the accident, conversations with people at the scene, your injuries, losses.
  • 3) If a government a jury or employee of governmental agency is involved a notice must be filled immediately.
  • 4) Preserve evidence physical and photographic.

Question: Will I have to go to court?

Answer: No, and cases do settle prior to even going to trial, so the chances are extremely high that you will never have to go into a courtroom
